Three years ago, I would have never imagined myself setting up my own company. I spent almost four years in Switzerland, graduated with a Hospitality Management Degree, and I thought I would be working in a well-established hotel.
My career in hospitality drew to a sudden halt after finding out my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer in November 2009. Life was a roller coaster and it changed everything, even in the way I saw the world. I began to take notice of the little unfortunate things that surrounded me.
I was determined to do my part to alleviate these misfortunes to the best of my ability and decided to open a company that combined social entrepreneurship principles and business principles that could make a difference in people’s lives. Hence the birth of The Hope Factory in April 2011.
The Hope Factory aims to sustain and educate Malaysians about social and economic hardships within its society, and empower consumers to make a stand on social change by substituting their everyday goods for goods that benefits the less fortunate.
When you buy products from The Hope Factory, you will be making a difference for someone in need of medical care, education, child protection, food and shelter. Funds will also be channeled to help defenseless animals.
Thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart for your contribution and believing in our cause.
